Your Nervous System Is Your Greatest Business Asset

You can have the perfect business plan, the best marketing strategy, and the most beautiful brand… but if your nervous system is running on fumes, your success will always feel like a fight.

Most women in business are operating in sympathetic overdrive — rushing, pushing, surviving on coffee and grit. Or, when burnout hits, they drop into shutdown — disconnected, unmotivated, questioning everything.

Polyvagal Theory shows us that the state of our nervous system directly shapes our ability to think, connect, and lead. When we’re in the ventral vagal “green zone” of safety and connection, our creativity, communication, and leadership soar. When we’re in yellow (fight/flight) or red (shutdown), our capacity shrinks. Yellow and red zones are where most humans are functioning from these days. 

Our retreats aim to move you to the green zone of safety so that your body moves into a state of connection with other attendees, listening more deeply, communicating more effectively, and allowing the creative juices to flow! 

Here’s the truth:

Your business can only grow to the level of safety your nervous system can hold.

Think of your nervous system like a wine glass. If your baseline is almost a full glass because of: 

  • your unmotivating or crappy environment/inputs
  • Your poor or overly worked physical health
  • your limited mindset
  • your emotional dysregulation
  • your poor/lazy/erratic/OCD habits
  • the processed foods you eat

That only leaves a tiny amount of room left in your glass for the requirements of running and building a business you truly love. One little hiccup, and your wine glass is spilling over. You’re freaking out or shutting down. Having so little room left to live the life you want makes it nearly impossible to avoid constant high stress, burnout, or quitting altogether.

Growing your nervous system capacity is two fold:

  1. Participate in healthy activities that grow the size of your wine glass
  2. Dump some of the current liquid (stress) out and start with a lower baseline so you have more room to work with

Both of these things require conscious, intentional, healthy choices for the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional parts of yourself as a woman and business owner. I know - it’s sounds overwhelming and like it takes a lot of time. But single activities that you love can hit all these requirements! We dive deep into these activities and more in our retreats.
